Wouldn't avocado be counted as a fatty food? Even though it is full of healthy fats.

Otherwise keep up the good work posting in your fitness blog.. very consistent!

Hi Anon,

You are right, avocado itself has >10% fat, but I had avocado within Sushi today, which overall is less than 10% fat. If you look at previous blog entries you will see that sometimes I have had avocado as a fatty food, that is when I have had avocado on its own or when avocado is the majority food item in what I am eating.

I used to count individual food types within this blog, but it just got too time consuming. I think it was about 2 months after I was posting I decided to post overall for food in order to be consistent.

That way when I eat something prepared, like a sandwich and a drink, I will count the sandwich as one item for the fat count and the drink as the other.

Eg I may have a sprinkle of pure olive oil on my salad, but I don't count that as a fatty food because overall the salad is <10% fat. But I would count a piece of cheese that I eat on its own.

cheers, b
